RaAM Workshop: Amsterdam, 2009

RaAM Workshop, 2009 "Metaphor, metonymy & multimodality" was held on 4th and 5th June, 2009 at the University of Amsterdam.

The title of the workshop was Metaphor, metonymy & multimodality, and the was on:

1. (1)the role of the pictorial and gestural mode, combined with verbal information, in metaphors and metonymies, with special attention to their use in (foreign language) teaching;
   

2. (2)the pictorial, sonic, and/or musical mode, combined with verbal information, in multimodal metaphors and metonymies surfacing in discourses of various types and genres (advertising, film, animation, comics).
