Methods for metaphor identification and analysis: five-day Metaphor Lab summerschool at University of Amsterdam

From 14 until 19 June 2015 (right after the RaAM Seminar in Leiden), The Metaphor Lab Amsterdam, in collaboration with RaAM, will host a 5-day summer school on Methods for Metaphor Identification and Analysis.

The school will take place at the University of Amsterdam, and comprise three courses on the following topics:

  • Identifying and Analyzing Visual Metaphor—Introducing VisMIP; instructor Dr. Marianna Bolognesi
  • Analyzing Metaphor in Discourse—Introducing the 5-step method; instructor Prof. Gerard Steen
  • Identifying Metaphor in Language—Introducing MIPVU; instructor Dr. Susan Nacey

The call can be found here, and applications should be sent by Monday 9 February 9 AM CET. There is room for 30 participants max. The fee for accepted participants is 200 euro (limited number of fee waivers available).
