Statement Allison:

“I have been a RaAM member since 2015 and served as an Ordinary Member on the Executive Committee. Working on the RaAM board coupled with my familiarity as a participant, presenter, and chair at RaAM conferences/seminars/summer schools has provided a solid foundation of experience for me to facilitate the new RaAM yearly conference format. In addition, my role as a Curriculum Designer at the University of Melbourne has developed my capabilities in organisation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills evidenced in convening teaching and learning events across disciplines and faculties. I reside in the Asia-Pacific region (Australia) where universities are experiencing growing academic interest in cognitive linguistics, the 4E’s of cognition, and figurative language. I also regularly journey to and work with colleagues in Europe/Norway. My global focus and transdisciplinary research background places me in an ideal position to advance international support for metaphor research and training as RaAM Conference Secretary”
