Candidates for Treasurer

Zsófia Demjén

Affiliation: University College London
Nominator: Alice Deignan
Seconder: Elena Semino

Statement Zsófia:

“RaAM continues to be one of the associations I consider home; the role of Treasurer is the right opportunity to get involved in executive. I would bring the following experience to the role: I was Treasurer of the Health & Science Communication SIG of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL) for three years. Because these were the first three years of the SIG, I had to set up the bank account and its management in addition to keeping track of income, expenses, and receipts, annual reporting to BAAL, budgeting for SIG events, and reimbursing speakers. The accountant overseeing BAAL’s books was always happy with my work. I have also been involved in organising conferences (including RaAM), so I know what needs attention. If elected, I will ensure that the accounts remain in good shape, maintain good communication with the EC, and assist with event budgeting as required by LOCs.”
