Standing for Communications Officer

What is involved?
It is expected that Executive Committee (EC) members will each year attend and report at two EC meetings as well as the Annual General Meeting (AGM), for which expenses will be reimbursed in line with RaAM policy. Where physical attendance is impossible or highly impractical (e.g., too costly), video-conferencing will be set up.

Task description for the Communications Officer
Originally, this position was labelled Ordinary Member. The EC decided to change it to Communications Officer for multiple reasons, including to distinguish tasks more clearly between the two Ordinary Members and to meet the EC’s desire to be more active in its communications to RaAM Members.

  • Maintaining contact with other EC members about communication content;
  • Sending out emails to RaAM members about RaAM news and events;
  • Building an online presence of RaAM on social media (Twitter, Facebook);
  • Reporting to the EC and AGM.

Duration of appointment
The Communications Officer will be appointed for a period of two years.
