At the 11th RaAM conference in Berlin in July, several prizes were awarded to RaAM members:
- Dr. Weiwei Zhang (Shanghai International Studies University) won the RaAM Early Career Research Paper Prize for her paper “Visualizing onomasiological change: Diachronic variation in metonymic patterns for WOMAN in Chinese”
Weiwei won £200 + 1 year’s free membership of RaAM
- Matteo Fuoli (Lund University) won the prize for best PhD presentation for his paper “Pictorial and Multimodal metaphors of DISTRUST in subverted BP logos from Greenpeace’s ‘Behind the logo’ competition”
Matteo won a De Gruyter book token and 1 year’s free membership of RaAM
- Charlotte Hommerberg and Anna Wallberg Gustafsson (Linnaeus University and Lund University) won the poster prize for their poster “Metaphors in palliative cancer care: a Sweden-based three-year interdisciplinary research project”
Charlotte and Anna received a Benjamins book token and 1 year’s free membership of RaAM
